PPA – Port of Ploče Authority

The Port of Ploče Authority (PPA) pilot action focuses on the comprehensive digitalization of railway procedures by upgrading the port’s Port Community System (PCS). By integrating remote code-recognition cameras, sensors, and physical gate barriers directly with the PCS, the project connects physical infrastructure with digital operations to enable seamless, automated tracking of cargo and wagon movements.

The platform features a centralized control dashboard tracking daily wagon announcements through five key parameters:

Announcement Number: Unique tracking identifiers for each rail shipment.
Railway Operator: The active rail carrier handling the movement.
Terminal Operator: The specific handling location within the port.
Freight Forwarder Code: The commercial logistics agent orchestrating the cargo.
Status: Real-time operational tracking checkpoints, automatically moving units through specific workflows:

WagonsAtEntrance: Units currently passing the physical entry gates.
WaitingCustoms: Shipments holding for mandatory customs clearance logs.
WaitingWagonHandover: Wagons queued for terminal track distribution.
Manipulations: Rolling stock actively undergoing loading, unloading, or sorting.
Completed: Successfully finalized rail transshipment services.

Ultimately, all tracked data is shared via APIs with the main TRANSPOGOOD Platform, eliminating information fragmentation and allowing cross-border stakeholders to plan and monitor freight routes smoothly.
